Prof. Mariano Sanz, Madrid, Spain
1981 – graduated from M.D. School of Medicine, University Complutense Madrid, Spain.
1983 – graduated in the School of Stomatology, University Complutense Madrid, Spain.
1987 – obtained degree: specialist in Periodontology – University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Professor, Chairman of Periodontology and Dean in the Faculty of Odontology, University Complutense, Madrid, Spain. Associate Dean for Postgraduate Education and Co-Director of Graduate Periodontology (Master's Program) at the University of Madrid. Since 1988 he has worked as a lecturer at the UCLA School of Dentistry, Department of Periodontics, Los Angeles, California, USA. Since 1993 he has also been a lecturer at the School of Dentistry, Department of Periodontics University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA.

Dr. Sanz lectures internationally on periodontology and regenerative treatment. He is the an author of many publications in international journals.

His scientific activities also include the positions of Secretary General – International Federation of Dental Education Associations (IFDEA) and Councillor of the IADR – Representing the Continental European Division. In 2008 he became the President of the European Council of Dental Deans. Dr. Sanz is also a member of the editorial boards of the following journals: “Clinical Oral Implant Research”, “Journal of Dental Research”, “Journal of Clinical Periodontology”, “Journal of Periodontal Research”, “Oral Diseases”, “European Journal of Dental Education”, “Clinical Oral Investigations”. Associate Editor of “Evidence Based Dental Practice” and “Journal of Clinical Periodontology”.

1991 - graduate of Jagiellonian University, Collegium Medicum Dentistry Department, Cracow. Complementary studies at Melbourne University, Australia and training in implantological centers at Freiburg University, Germany; University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
Specialization in oral surgery and implantology.
At the Jagiellonian University he worked at the Maxillo-Facial Department, later at the Department of Prosthodontics.
His activities are: lectures and seminars on implantology for pre-graduate students and advanced courses for postgraduate doctors specializing in implantology and tissue regeneration procedures.
Head of the Implantological Department at Jagiellonian University and Director of the Central European Implant Academy - a center for training courses and scientific research in the field of implantology.
He belongs to an international multi center study team, working on new surgical procedures and issues related to implant surfaces.
Dr. Majewski is a member of EAO and OSIS. He lectures in Poland and abroad on implantology and regenerative treatment and is the autor of many publications in Polish and international journals.

Bilal Al-Nawas
Professor Al-Nawas is full time Medical Director at the Department of Oral, Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery at the J. Gutenberg University of Mainz. He is graduated in Dentistry and Medicine and is affiliated to the University of Mainz for more than 10 years. In the function of an assistant professor his mayor clinical and scientific focus is dental implantology with clinical studies and basic research. Compromised patients with risk factors or local bone deficiency, but also tumor and cleft reconstructions, are treated in a team of specialists. He published over 100 publications in peer reviewed journals and is a Fellow of the ITI Section Germany. In 2006 he was awarded: by the students “Best Teacher at the Medical Faculty”. Since 2009 he is full Professor at the same department.

Mark Hochman
Modern Techniques of Local Anesthesia to Achieve the maximum Effectiveness in Implantology and Periodontology cases.
Mark Hochman: Implantologist, Periodontologist, Orthodontist. Since 1989 Clinical Lecturer in the post-graduate training program at the School of Dental Medicine, Stony Brook, New York, USA. Since 1998 Clinical Lecturer (Associate Professor) at the Implant Institute of NYU and the Institute of Orthodontics (New York University College of Dental Surgery), New York, USA. Dr. Hochman has invented the pressure control system for administering anesthetics (Dynamic Pressure Sensing™). He has also worked closely with Prof. Stanley Malamed – the world-renowned anesthesiologist. International lecturer and a member of Prof. Dennis Tarnow’s team. His field of professional specialization is periodontology



Witold Jurczyñski
In 1992 completed medical studies at Jagiellonian University, Collegium Medicum. Second degree specialist in periodontology since 1999. The doctor of medical studies since 2003. A member of American Academy of Periodontology. A participant of numerous trainings and sessions in Poland as well as abroad, including: Ljubljana, Geneva, Berlin, Boston, and Munich (Prof. Dr Hannes Wachtel course). The author of many publication in the scope of parodontium diseases treatment. Since 1993 organizes practical courses as well as lectures in the field of laserotherapy, parodontium diseases treatment and periodontics microsurgery. Since 1996 the co-owner of The Center for Periodontology and Endodontics GLOBUS in Cracow.


Gerd Köerner
Periodontist, implantologist. In 1975, he finished his dental studies at the dental department of the University in Münster, WWU. From 1977 to 1980 he was a staff member of the Perio Department, University of Münster. In 1981 he opened a dental office in Bielefeld which specializes in periodontics. In 1983, he was promoted to a specialist in periodontics. In 1996, Dr Körner published a textbook “Art Oral”, co-authored with Klaus Müterthies.




 



Stefan Renvert
Stefan Renvert received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Lund, Sweden, in 1975. In 1979 he spent one year as visiting professor at Loma Linda University in California, USA. He then completed graduate training in Periodontology at the Dental School in Malmö University of Lund, Sweden with a certificate in Periodontology 1981 and the Odont.Dr. (Ph.D) degree in 1984. In 1999 he became Professor of Oral Health Sciences and Research Director at Kristianstad University, Sweden. Professor Renvert also holds a position as visiting professor at Dublin Dental Hospital, Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland and at the Blekinge Institute of Technology, Karlskrona, Sweden. Professor Renvert is past chairman the Swedish Society of Periodontology, past chairman of the EFP, he was Scientific Chairman for Europerio 5 in Madrid 2005 and Chairman of the Europerio 6 meeting in Stockholm 2009. From 2010 professor Renvert will act as the General Secretary of the EFP.
Professor Renvert´s research early focused on outcome assessments of different treatment modalities of intra-osseous defects and diagnosis of periodontal diseases. His collaborative research efforts over the last years have resulted in numerous publications on periodontal microbiology, guided bone regeneration around implants, peri-implantitis and the association between periodontitis and cardiovascular diseases. Professor Renvert has published more than 100 papers in international and national journals.
At present Professor Renvert´s research focuses on diagnosis and treatment of peri-implantitis, risk assessments and the association of periodontal disease to cardiovascular disease.
Studied at the Universities of Istanbul and Frankfurt, from where he graduated in dentistry in 1987. Since 1993 Dr. Yuksel has worked in Frankfurt. He is an accredited ICOl/USA implantologist as well as a certified lecturer in implantology (BDIZ/EDI). He is the joint editor of the magazine Quintessence (Turkish edition) as well as international lecturer in Aesthetic Dentistry and Implantology. A member of the elite “Omega Group" of international lecturers. Leads courses, gives lectures and provides practical training. Has a private practice in Frankfurt, Germany.



Frank Schwarz
Awarded diploma of dental surgeon in 1998 from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Saarland, Homburg, Germany. In 2003 awarded title of doctor of medical sciences, specialization in oral surgery. Obtained post-doctoral degree (habilitation) in 2005. Leads courses and provides specialist teaching. Since 2002 Lecturer in the Department of Periodontology of the Henrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, Germany (Professor J. Becker). Author of numerous international publications. Winner of the André Schroeder Research Prize 2007. Member of the editorial boards for the following periodicals: “Journal of Clinical Periodontology", “Clinical Oral Implants Research".



Anton Sculean
Periodotologist, a specialist and world-renowned lecturer. Studied dentistry at the Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. Completed post-graduate studies and doctorate in periodontology at Münster University, Germany as well as the Royal School of Dentistry in Aarhus, Denmark. Specialist of the German Society of Peridontology (DGP), obtained post-doctoral degree (habilitation) at the Homburg University in Germany. Since 2004 Director of the Periodontology Institute and Director of Post-Graduate Studies Program in Mainz, Germany. From 2004 to 2008, Director of the Periodontology Institute and Director of Post-Graduate Studies at Radboud University in Nijmegen, Holland. Since December 2008 Professor and Director of the Institute of Periodontology at Berne University in Switzerland. Areas of professional specialization: the regeneration and healing of periodontal tissue, clinical research into periodontal regeneration therapies, biofilm of the oral cavity. Author of more than 150 publications in leading scientific journals, 12 chapters in handbooks and more than 200 lecturers given at meetings and conferences.

Wilfried Wagner
Professor, Academic Lecturer. Medical and Dental studies at the Universities of Saarbrûcken and Mainz in Germany. Specialization in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 1982. Specialization in plastic surgery in 1988. Postdoctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) in 1988. In 1990 awarded title of professor. Prof. Wagner has performed numerous academic and teaching functions at the Johannes Guttenberg University in Mainz, Germany.
Since 2008 he has been a member of the Committee of the Association of Academic Teachers of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (VHZMK), National Specialist of the Federal Republic and Germany, Honorary Member of Polish Dental Society (PTS). Member of the editorial boards of the following periodicals: Zeitschrift für Zahnärztliche Implantologie, International Poster Journal of Dentistry and Oral Medicine, Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie, Implantologie, German medical science, Wissen Kompakt, Cranio Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics (Warsaw), Official Journal of the Polish Dental Society. Dietmar Weng
Dr. Dietmar Weng graduated from the University of Marburg, Germany, in 1993, and spent the subsequent 3 years as Assistant Professor at the University of Freiburg, Germany, Department of Prosthodontics. >From 1996 to 1998 he worked as Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Houston, USA, Department of Periodontics, and did extensive research on dental implants and regenerative materials. From 1999 to 2004 he was Associate Professor at the University of Würzburg, Germany, Department of Prosthodontics. Apart from conventional fixed prosthodontics and esthetic rehabilitations, his main focus lies on surgical and prosthetic aspects of prosthetically driven implantology and soft tissue management upon which he has lectured and published nationally and internationally. Dr. Weng is a member of several scientific societies and serves on the editorial board of the Quintessence journal „Implantologie“. Since 2004 he has practiced in a private office in Starnberg, Germany, specializing in implant dentistry and periodontics



Rados³aw Witkowski
Rados³aw Witkowski graduated from the department of dentistry (faculty of medicine) of the “Piastów ¦laskich” Medical Academy in Wroc³aw in 1992. From 1992 to 1998 he worked as a junior assistant and assistant at the Regional Maxillary and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic of the Regional Medical Centre in Opole. He completed his specialization in dental surgery from 1993-1995 at the Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic of the Medical Academy in Wroc³aw. He is the co-founder of and, since 1988, assistant at the Outpatient Department of Maxillofacial Surgery of the Regional Medical Centre in Opole. From 1999-2006 he worked as an assistant and then a senior assistant at the Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic of the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow and from 2002 as a specialist in maxillofacial surgery. In the course of his specialization he participated in courses and internships both in Poland and abroad in clinical departments of general, oncological, plastic, children’s, maxillary and otolaryngological surgery and in departments of dentistry (Medical Universities in Warsaw and Polanica, Medical Academies in Szczecin, Poznañ, Wroc³aw, Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow). He participated in training in the fields of orthognathic surgery and osteodistraction: in 2000 in the Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic in Graz, in 2005 in a training program with the Medartis osteodistraction system in the Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic in Jena, in 2008 in the Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic in Salzburg. He completed training in cranial implantology and facial epitheses at the Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic and epithesis laboratory in Morriston, Wales in 2003. He is an ordinary member of the Polish Dental Association, the Polish Association for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the European Association for Cranial-Maxillo-Facial Surgery and the European Association for Osseointegration. He possesses theoretical and practical preparation in the use of various implant systems such as Nobel Biocare, Straumann, Camlog, Frialit, 3I, Astra, Alpha Bio, TBR, SIS. He completed implant training in renowned centres in Italy, Switzerland, the United States, Portugal, Germany and Austria. As a lecturer and trainer he teaches basic and advanced osteology and implantology both in Poland and abroad for Nobel Biocare, Geistlisch, Meisinger and others. Dr. Witkowski specializes in aesthetic implants, advanced bone reconstruction and zygomatic implants. He has actively participated in and presented lectures at domestic and international implantology, EACMFS and EAO congresses and symposiums in Holland, Switzerland, Finland, Scotland, France, Monaco and the United States. He is the author of publications in the fields of implantology and dental and maxillofacial surgery and is also an active consultant for implant clinics in Poland and abroad.



Orcan Yûeksel
Studied at the Universities of Istanbul and Frankfurt, from where he graduated in dentistry in 1987. Since 1993 Dr. Yuksel has worked in Frankfurt.
